It’s One-On-One. Typically, we engage in one-to-many relationships. In the business workplace, meetings between supervisors with their subordinates have been around for quite some time. In the church, ministry leaders meet with their staff, and their staff in turn meet with their staff and volunteers. But how often do we have one-on-one’s with individual members on our team?

Two years ago, most meetings were face-to-face and on premise. In the office, managers convened meetings with their staff in-person and onsite. They also exercised MBWA, managing their reports by walking around and dropping into their physical workspaces. Today, meetings are still face-to-face but they have moved off premise; they have gone online yet in-person. In the hybrid phygital situation, one-on-one meetings need to happen more than ever. They need to be more effective and efficient. Fresh air needs to be injected into this intentional discipline.

Check out these posts for some ideas:

How Managers can Turbocharge One-on-Ones to Promote Growth

Weekly 1 on 1 Meetings – the Most Important Use of a Manager’s Time

As mentioned above, a very important relationship is with our Creator.
