Further to my CHRISTmas and yearend prayer<\/a>, let\u2019s look back and learn with 20\/20 [sic<\/em>] some hind<\/strong>sight, to give us some fore<\/strong><\/em>sight, and prepare us for this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the pandemic, there have been sighs and wh<\/em><\/span><\/em>ines that \u201cthe church is closed.\u201d In response, I say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Do you want cheese with that wh<\/span><\/em>ine?<\/li>
  2. The church is not <\/span><\/em>closed. Maybe your church building\/facilities<\/em> are closed.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    As we know, church is not <\/em><\/span>an event that is \u201cdone.\u201d We don\u2019t \u201cdo <\/span>church.\u201d We are <\/span>church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Rather than getting stuck within the four walls in <\/span>the church building, the pandemic has propelled the church out <\/span>of the building and to<\/em> the mission field in the regions beyond at the four corners of the globe, albeit virtually and not physically. This is consonant with the LORD\u2019s instruction<\/a> to be mission-focused<\/a> and Spirit-empowered<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As we see the Day approaching, the Church continues to gather to spur one another on toward love and good deeds, encouraging each other, in worship, prayer, preaching, teaching, discipling, fellowship and small group. Whether the church is meeting physically, virtually, or hybrid, we need to reach out and intentionally engage our constituents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
